Analyzing historical cross-chain bridge hacks and designing hardware-enforced validation mechanisms for wrapped assets.
Cross-chain bridges have suffered over $2.5 billion in cumulative losses due to smart contract logic bugs, forged validator signatures, and compromised validator private keys. CoinHSM provides bridge validators with tamper-resistant hardware signing nodes that independently verify source-chain consensus proofs.
Rather than trusting incoming RPC messages from application servers, CoinHSM parses Light Client state proofs (such as Tendermint or Ethereum Sync Committee proofs), validating Merkle-Patricia trees inside the enclave before authorizing token minting on destination chains.
Validator nodes running CoinHSM are physically protected against double-signing penalties (slashing). The enclave tracks past signed block heights and views, permanently refusing to sign competing blocks at the same height even under software instruction.
